Union Zach (Prodigy Member) Rey - Do you think that the criticism
that the other Luchadors receive from fans is fair? Do you think WCW has done
a good job of getting them "over?"
Rey Mysterio Jr (Speaker) Well, I think WCW is a big company...the
best. There is just so much talent now it's hard to promote everybody. I'm
sure everyone will get their chance.
Union Zach (Prodigy Member) Rey - You worked for the WAR promotion
in 1995 and 1996 in Japan. Now that you work for WCW, have you though about
working for the New Japan promotion and their crop of Junior Heavyweights?
Rey Mysterio Jr (Speaker) I'm definitely looking forward to working
with New Japan. I haven't been offered that chance yet, but it's something
I do want to do. I think they are the best company in Japan and I look forward
to working there at some point.
DavidMerlino (Prodigy Member) Hey Rey, Who is your favorite wrestler
(besides yourself) and what was your favorite match that you were in?
Rey Mysterio Jr (Speaker) Favorite wrestler...that's kind of hard.
I admire people like Chris Benoit. I like that rough style that he has. I've
had many many that I remember, but one of the best was with Psicosis at Bash
at the Beach.
xNWOXX (Prodigy Member) How do you feel about Eddy taking your mask?
Rey Mysterio Jr (Speaker) It's a difficult match. I've beat him a
couple of times. He might approach the match in a way I may not expect. It's
a risk. It's a scary thought.
Ray Pruit PS (Prodigy Member) My question concerns your contract,
when does it expire? And, do you plan on renewing it with WCW?
Rey Mysterio Jr (Speaker) I believe my contract expires next year,
I'm not sure what day. My future I think is in WCW. I enjoy this company.
big STING (Prodigy Member) What will happen if you lose your mask?
Rey Mysterio Jr (Speaker) If I lose it, I hope the people can accept
me without the mask. It will be hard for me, because I've worn it for 7 years.
If I lose it it's something I have to live with. It would be a mistake I would
live with the rest of my life.
DavidMerlino (Prodigy Member) What is your favorite football team?
Rey Mysterio Jr (Speaker) I like the Oakland Raiders.
Ray Pruit PS (Prodigy Member) Rey, would you ever consider going
back to ECW?
Rey Mysterio Jr (Speaker) I wouldn't say no. Anything can happen
in the wrestling business. I had a great time there, and it was a total different
experience. I can't say anything bad about ECW.
Cat Woman 5 (Prodigy Member) Rey What are some of your hobbies outside
of when you are wrestling? Also when do you think you will get revenge on
Konan for messing your knee up? I also like your matchup with the Giant helping
each other.
Rey Mysterio Jr (Speaker) Outside of wrestling, I like spending time
with my wife and family. I wish I could have gotten that revenge today. After
this match is over with, I'll get back with Konnan.
GOO55 (Prodigy Member) How old are you Rey?
Rey Mysterio Jr (Speaker) I'm 22.
DavidMerlino (Prodigy Member) What is your opinion about the WWF?
Rey Mysterio Jr (Speaker) I think it's a big company. I watched it
as a kid. I have nothing bad to say about them. I think it's great to have
competition in wrestling. It's good that people don't get bored watching just
one show. Having two shows makes it better for people.
Union Zach (Prodigy Member) Rey - You've worked with some of the
best talent in Mexico. Who would you consider to be your greatest opponent?
Hijo Del Santo? El Dandy?
Rey Mysterio Jr (Speaker) I think Hijo Del Santo.
Ray Pruit PS (Prodigy Member) Rey, why the mask?
Rey Mysterio Jr (Speaker) When I started watching wrestling back
in Mexico, my uncle wore a mask. I grew up wanting to wear one too. After
I knew what it really meant, I thought it was a part of me. I grew up watching
it and now I live with it. I think it's part of my personality and part of
me.
Union Zach (Prodigy Member) Rey - There are many critics out there
who feel that the Lucha style that you perform will cause you lifetime injuries
that you will never be able to recover from. Do you feel that you should tone
down your style?
Rey Mysterio Jr (Speaker) I think even when you get told to tone
things down, the adrenaline of the people makes you do crazy things. They're
high risk moves, but sometimes you don't care. You just try to have a good
match and show the people what you got. After you get hurt, that's when you
realize 'oh man I shouldn't have done that'.
Justasa (Prodigy Member) Rey, how did it feel when Nash gave you
the power bomb ??
Rey Mysterio Jr (Speaker) Oh...it was pretty high! It was something
I'd never felt before in wrestling. I never wrestled somebody that tall or
heavy. It was crazy for me to take that match. Crazy things happen sometimes
in this business. It was scary...and it hurt.
Cat Woman 5 (Prodigy Member) What are your favorite cities to visit
when you are on the road?
Rey Mysterio Jr (Speaker) I love Orlando. I love Philadelphia. San
Diego is great too.
GOO55 (Prodigy Member) Hey Rey what do you think of Konnan?
Rey Mysterio Jr (Speaker) He's a big guy. He has a big name. He's
just trying to imitate and be the NWO to get a name by being part of them.
He can't get a name by himself.
Hiero Joe (Prodigy Member) Rey - I think you being able to show your
skills in a venue like WCW is great.... are there any plans to wrestle with
the heavyweight people instead of facing Dean Malenko and Eddy Guerero every
other week?
Rey Mysterio Jr (Speaker) I enjoy that. It's a different challenge
not working with people my size. It shows you aren't limited. You have advantages
being small.
GOO55 (Prodigy Member) Rey what is the name of your signature move?
Rey Mysterio Jr (Speaker) Huracanrana
Union Zach (Prodigy Member) Rey - You've worked with wrestlers such
as Dean Malenko, Jushin Thunder Liger, Psicosis, and other stars. Do you prefer
to work with wrestlers who primarily base their offense on the mat or do
you feel more comfortable with the flyers such as Psicosis and Juventud Guerrera?
Rey Mysterio Jr (Speaker) I have no preference. Whatever they put
in the ring, I can do my stuff. If they ground me, I just work around it.
ES 1stJobber (Prodigy Member) Rey, thanks for joining us, how would
you feel if you do lose your mask tonight, and how would this affect the supposed
match in Promo Azteca with Psicosis?
Rey Mysterio Jr (Speaker) There is no supposed match. If I lose my
match tonight, I'll just wrestle as who I am. I don't think it will effect
anything.
ES 1stJobber (Prodigy Member) Rey, who do you pick Florida or Cleveland?
Rey Mysterio Jr (Speaker) Florida
EWA PREZ (Prodigy Member) If you lose your mask at Halloween Havoc,
will you still wrestle?
Rey Mysterio Jr (Speaker) Yes, definitely.
EWA PREZ (Prodigy Member) Who long did it take to perfect all those
moves?
Rey Mysterio Jr (Speaker) It takes a while. If I pull it off right,
that's good. Sometimes you screw up and get it right the next time. You just
do it over and over.
Mill CKMarch (Prodigy Member) Rey,has your son grown to be bigger
then you yet?
Rey Mysterio Jr (Speaker) He's getting real big now.
GQSMOOTH69 (Prodigy Member) What are your feelings on Sabu and the
rest of the ECW guys?
Rey Mysterio Jr (Speaker) They're great talents. I think I'd still
be there if I had not come here. I admire all of them.
Mill CKMarch (Prodigy Member) Rey,when are you going to challenge
the Giant to an one on one match?
Rey Mysterio Jr (Speaker) I don't think that will happen. I'd rather
tag with him.
Warrio's Barr (Prodigy Member) What do you believe has been your
toughest match through your career?
Rey Mysterio Jr (Speaker) It's hard to remember. When I first came
to WCW, facing Dean Malenko was one of the toughest.
Hiero Joe (Prodigy Member) Rey - How do you think TAKA will do in
the WWF....? fan-reaction-wise
Rey Mysterio Jr (Speaker) He's a good talent. I think he'll do fine.
He's good.
Warrio's Barr (Prodigy Member) Do you believe that you will become
more "Marketable" if you lose your mask? considering that you are the most
over lightweight WCW has.
Rey Mysterio Jr (Speaker) I don't think I know the answer yet. The
people know the answer if I lose it. If I lose it and they put me over, that's
great. If not, they still put me over. It's up to the people.
