SALT LAKE CITY - Konnan and Rey Mysterio Jr. came to town Saturday
as tickets went on sale for the third Monday Nitro here at the E Center,
set for May 29th.
And we all know what happened at the first Nitro here. Or, should I say, who was a part of that gala first Nitro.
Goldberg.
Yep, The Man, The Myth, The Legend -- Goldberg -- made his Nitro debut here against Hugh Morrus. And, of course, it was a win.
The E Center also has played host to a Thunder taping and one house show. And the Goldberg Nitro in September, 1997, was the first event ever at the arena.
Konan and Mysterio signed autographs for about two hours, then returned to their homes in San Diego. The two also mingled with E Center guests attending a Republican Convention inside the arena, including Tim Lawson, a candidate for governor, who introduced himself to Konan.
